The Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (AICPA) has revealed that Sue Coffey has been appointed as CEO of public accounting at the firm.
Coffey will join Barry Melancon, president and CEO at the company, in setting a strategy to strengthen and advance the global accountancy profession and value of public accounting.

Speaking on the appointment, Melancon said: “Her foresight and global network have been key to the success of many innovations.
“Today, more than ever, accounting professionals are viewed as trusted advisers, and we have Sue’s vision and commitment to thank for this achievement.”

Coffee recognised that she is joining an “amazing, highly qualified team” in a position that can utilise her strengths.
She added: “My new role will allow me to engage my strategic thinking, relationship-building and problem-solving experience in finding new ways to support and grow the profession and its commitment to protecting the public.”
