Aprio, a CPA-led business advisory firm, has announced the acquisition of both Syzygy Solutions, a digital transformation and cybersecurity consulting company, and its IT staffing firm Velossent.
Some 25 staff members from the two firms are set to join Aprio, including their founders Mitch Nelson, Jeff Kramer, and Scott Sarris, who will now act as managing directors of digital transformation advisory services.
Specializing in placing developers, engineers, technology leaders, and recruiters in roles at companies within the industry, Velossent’s IT staffing will now expand to include accounting and finance under the name Aprio talent solutions.
Richard Kopelman, CEO and managing partner at Aprio, said: “The Covid-19 pandemic has made digital transformation a business imperative.
“Syzygy and Velossent’s combined solutions provide the people, process and technology capabilities for companies to thrive in the next era of digitization, knowing their environments are secure.”
A client of Aprio since 2014, the connection Syzygy held with its buyers was of the utmost importance to its founders.
Nelson, CEO at Syzygy, said: “We knew we wanted to combine with a firm that would help on our growth trajectory and that shared our entrepreneurial spirit – Aprio became the obvious choice.
“Our established digital transformation service offerings backed by Aprio’s comprehensive accounting and advisory services will enable us to drive value for Aprio’s clients and deepen relationships with our existing clients.”
