Alvarez and Marsal Taxand (A&M Taxand), an affiliate of global professional services firm Alvarez and Marsal (A&M), has announced the appointment of Elizabeth Goodwin as managing director of its federal tax practice.
Goodwin brings over two decades of tax advisory experience to the role, having served at consulting and public accounting firms, and as an in-house tax advisor to investment companies.
Specializing in credit matters, tax entities, and real estate assets, Goodwin’s “expertise managing broader tax implications and investment concerns” will reportedly enhance the firm’s delivery of its “leadership, action, results credo”.
Moreover, her appointment is intended to support A&M Taxand’s ability to help its clients navigate the “ongoing amendments to tax laws” that are causing increasing “tax complexities”.
Tyler Horton, managing director at the group, said: “Elizabeth’s experience aligns with A&M’s operational heritage and advances our capabilities to minimize liability and mitigate risk for clients.
“Her joining strengthens our objective to maximize value by providing robust tax advisory services that leverage the firm’s technical expertise and bench strength.”
Prior to her recent appointment, Goodwin was a partner at KPMG where she worked in the financial services tax team.
She has also undertaken a stint at fellow Big Four firm EY, as well as spending time at Ares Management and Allied Capital.
