Vrakas CPAs and advisors, a public accounting and business advisory firm, has announced the promotions of Sara Johnson and Paul Rothering to audit principal.
In their new roles, they will be tasked with leading financial statement audit/review engagements and advising clients on new accounting standards, mergers and acquisitions, and financial reporting topics.
Previously a manager at the group, Johnson has worked as a professional member of Vrakas’ staff since 2010 after undertaking an internship at the firm in 2009.
Taking the same career step from manager to principal, Rothering has also been with the company his entire professional career, following Johnson’s progressions one year later.
Brad Weckwerth, managing shareholder at Vrakas, said: “Both Sara and Paul are terrific representatives of Vrakas.
“They are technically savvy, provide excellent service to our clients and act as mentors to our staff. They will continue to be an integral part of the firm’s future success. We are excited for their opportunity to further grow in their new roles within the firm.”
In addition to her primary responsibilities, Johnson has taken the lead role in managing the firm’s employee benefit plan audit practice, which processes in excess of an annual 120 audits.
Moreover, Rothering will lead the audit department’s fin-tech group that has been established to maximize the use of technology within its policies and procedures.
