RKL, an accounting and business consulting firm, has announced the appointment of Michael Bannasch and Kristen Deeds to the company.
Joining the group’s state and local tax and international tax practices respectively, the pair will be tasked with leading their individual divisions.
Bannasch will provide the role with almost 20 years of public accounting experience centred on state and local tax consulting.
He specializes in nexus studies, reverse sales/use tax audits, apportionment sourcing analyses, audit representation, and M&A due diligence.
Deeds has gained 17 years of international tax experience working across various industries, such as manufacturing, logistics, and finance.
She brings to the role specializations in US taxation of foreign earnings, transfer pricing, US and Canadian compliance, and accounting for income taxes.
Wendy Lance, partner and leader of tax services at RKL, said: “When companies do business across borders, whether it’s another state or country, tax obligations automatically become more complex.
“Tapping experts like Michael and Kirsten to lead these specialized tax practice areas allows us to not only help our clients manage compliance, but also proactively recommend strategies to strengthen their financial standing.”
