Marcum adds Starter-Fluid to FAAS arm

The group will now operate out of Marcum’s Boston office, with David Chapman, founder and CEO at Starter-Fluid, acting as principal at Marcum

Marcum, an independent public accounting and advisory services firm, has announced its addition of CFO-led services provider Starter-Fluid.

The deal will see the group will join Marcum’s national financial accounting and advisory services (FAAS) practice.

Providing a range of outsourced finance, accounting, and executive support facilities, Starter-Fluid works with early-stage and scaling companies.

The group will now operate out of Marcum’s Boston office, with David Chapman, founder and CEO at Starter-Fluid, acting as principal at Marcum.

Chapman said: “Integrating with Marcum will deepen our access to the precise skills our clients need at any point in time, as they rely on us to help them accelerate growth and maximize financial performance.

“We have a like-minded approach to client service that will be an excellent basis for leveraging our mutual strengths and core competencies.”

In addition to the joining of Chapman, two managing directors and 10 additional associates will make the switch from Starter-Fluid to Marcum.

Ethan Brysgel, advisory partner and FAAS leader at Marcum, said: “Specialized knowledge and practical experience are sometimes the missing ingredients needed to help clients protect the integrity and continuity of their accounting, finance, and business operations.

“The Starter-Fluid professionals are highly accomplished at helping clients build out and broaden their capabilities and strengthen their finance functions. We are delighted to welcome them to our FAAS practice.”
