She will act as an advisor to the CEO, translating strategic priorities into actionable plans aligned to the group’s growth and transformation agendas

Advisory CPA firm Baker Tilly US has announced the appointment of Shanté George as the group’s chief of staff.

Effective June 1, George will be tasked with driving the firm’s strategic direction and enterprise initiatives, while supporting executive leadership and operations.

She will act as an advisor to the CEO, translating strategic priorities into actionable plans aligned to the group’s growth and transformation agendas.

Moreover, George will operate as Baker Tilly’s North American network advisor, leading coordination and collaboration with US member firms.

Alan Whitman, CEO at Baker Tilly, said: “Business can’t stand still. We’re focused on helping our clients prepare for what’s next by building the advisory CPA firm of the future, today.

“Shanté’s multi-faceted experience and forward-thinking leadership will enable those efforts by facilitating collaboration and execution across our firm.”

George joined the firm’s bankruptcy and restructuring arm in 2016, and was subsequently named partner in 2019.

She will provide the role with experience in providing financial and strategic advisory services across restructurings, forensic investigations, and M&A due diligence.

She said: “Baker Tilly has grown tremendously from the firm it was when I joined five years ago. This transformation has been fueled by its eye toward the future and unrelenting focus on innovation.

“I’m honored to have the opportunity to help execute Baker Tilly’s strategy to benefit our clients and our team members.”

George takes over the position from Jacqueline Wiggins, who has transitioned to become the group’s chief strategy officer.
