BKD Forensics and Valuation Division hires former special agent

He has more than 25 years of investigative and accounting experience in a variety of industries, including financial services, manufacturing, insurance, professional services and construction

Ryan Callahan, partner of BKD CPAs & Advisors’ Forensics and Valuation Services division, has announced the addition of Vince Cummings as a director in BKD’s Kansas City office.

Before joining BKD, Cummings founded his own professional services firm that specialized in forensic accounting. He has more than 25 years of investigative and accounting experience in a variety of industries, including financial services, manufacturing, insurance, professional services and construction.

The firm also revealed Cummings has testified numerous times on behalf of the federal government and his experience as a special agent for the FBI—along with his extensive work regarding civil damage calculations— means that he will bring “tremendous value” to BKD’s clients.

Callahan said: “We’re very excited to have Vince joining our forensics practice. His deep forensics and testifying experience will help us continue to serve Kansas City-area clients, including those in our Missouri and Kansas offices.”

Cummings is a graduate of Central Missouri State University with a B.S. degree in business administration. He is a Master Analyst in Financial Forensics (MAFF), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), CPA, Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and licensed private investigator.

In addition, he is involved in a number of associations, including the Society of Former Special Agents of the FBI, The Institute of Internal Auditors and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
