Dark Horse CPAs, an accounting and tax firm for small businesses and individuals, has announced a pair of Accelerator promotions to principals at the group.
Both Natalie Cohen and Hayes Hokanson joined the group’s Accelerator Program in Portland and San Diego respectively.
Announced in March, the Principal Accelerator Program was formed for CPAs aiming to build a scalable book of business at a firm that enables them with resources to grow.
Chase Birky, CEO and co-founder of Dark Horse, said that the principal appointments “illustrate the success of the Accelerator model”.
Having worked at a national CPA firm for nine years, Cohen joined the program in September 2020 and established her own SMB accounting and tax practice.
The group said that she has earned a position as equity principal due to her “outstanding client service” to small business in both “tax work and accounting”.
Cohen said: “I love working directly with business owners to help them manage their financials, while incorporating tax saving opportunities
“As a principal with Dark Horse, I have the autonomy to develop and maintain client relationships and do the work I love, while Dark Horse provides all of the resources and support I could ever need to allow my practice to thrive.”
Hokanson also joined the Accelerator Program after nine years in the industry, instead providing finance, bookkeeping, and fractional CFO services to business clients.
She said: “After practicing solo for over nine years, I’m truly enjoying the collaborative culture at Dark Horse.
“I’d recommend the Accelerator Program for anyone who wants to grow their business and focus on clients with the support of an excellent business organization.”
