Andersen, an independent tax, valuation, financial advisory, and consulting firm has announced the appointment of Joe Calianno as a managing director at its US national tax practice.
Based in Washington DC, Calianno will advise clients on a range of issues, including cross-border restructuring and provisions related to the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.
He provides the role with 25 years of experience in all areas of international tax, having previously worked as a partner and international tax practice leader at both BDO and Grant Thornton.
Calianno also served as the international deputy associate chief counsel in the office of the IRS’ chief counsel.
Ellen MacNeil, managing director of US national tax at Andersen, said: “Joe will help our clients with international tax matters and global opportunities.
“With the constantly changing international tax climate, Joe’s expertise as well as his Internal Revenue Service experience will be an invaluable contribution to our team and firm.”
