Grant Thornton LLP has named Partho Ghatak as its chief information security officer (CISO).
In his new role, Ghatak will direct Grant Thornton’s information security needs and advise senior leadership on all matters related to the integrity and confidentiality of critical business information and systems.
He will also be responsible for the practices and tools that reduce risks to information security and technology, while also preventing and responding to security incidents.
In addition, he will establish security policies, standards and controls, manage security technologies, and implement business and risk-aligned information security and risk management programs, defending the firm against cyber-attacks and the emerging threat landscape.
Ghatak brings with him 20 years of experience in information security roles across a variety of industries, including health care, manufacturing, transportation and consulting services. Before joining Grant Thornton, he held senior roles helping Fortune 500 companies to securely drive innovative business solutions.
He holds multiple industry certifications, including certified chief information security officer (CCISO), certified information security manager (CISM), certified information systems auditor (CISA), certified risk and information systems control (CRISC), certified data privacy and security engineer (CDPSE) and certified Microsoft Azure practitioner. He is also certified in IT infrastructure library (ITIL).
