Piedmont Lithium appoints new executive VP and CFO

Michael White brings with him accounting and finance experience to the firm, and will oversee the company’s financial accounting and reporting, budgeting and forecasting, internal controls, compliance, treasury, tax, and risk management functions

Piedmont Lithium has announced the appointment of Michael White as executive VP and CFO where he will report to the CEO, Keith Phillips.

White brings with him accounting and finance experience to the firm, and will oversee the company’s financial accounting and reporting, budgeting and forecasting, internal controls, compliance, treasury, tax, and risk management functions.

He joins the group from ChampionX Corporation where he served as VP, chief accounting officer and corporate controller with responsibilities for leading the company’s global accounting and financial reporting.

In this role, White led enterprise-wide transformation of the global controllership function, created sustainable financial reporting and provided financial leadership related to mergers and acquisition activities, including a successful IPO.

Prior to that he held the position of senior VP, chief accounting officer and corporate controller for Aegion Corporation.

Furthermore, throughout his 25 year career he has held various senior financial roles including CFO of Baker Energy and as a manager in the assurance practice with EY.

Phillips said: “We’re delighted to welcome Michael as our CFO and the newest member of our fast-growing leadership team.

“His background in controllership, corporate governance, public company reporting, financial planning and analysis and long-term strategic planning make him a great addition to our Piedmont family.”
