Global law firm Shearman and Sterling has recently announced 14 new partners, effective July 1, 2021.
The new partners represent eight practices and span six offices including New York, London, Tokyo, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Milan.
The breadth of their expertise includes capital markets, corporate, mergers and acquisitions, project development and finance, litigation, tax, finance, and financial restructuring and insolvency. Previously, nine of the new partners were counsel and five were associates.
Amongst the new promotions, includes four based in New York.
Lara Aryani, a member of the mergers and acquisitions practice, advises clients on a broad range of complex strategic transactions, including public, private and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, minority investments and corporate governance matters.
Sara Coelho is a member of the financial restructuring and insolvency practice, and she represents creditors and creditor groups, debtors, acquirers, equity owners and other investors in a wide range of insolvency matters.
Furthemore, Derek Kershaw, a member of the tax practice, advises clients on a range of domestic and international tax issues in a wide variety of transactions.
