The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and AuditBoard have announced an expansion to the Elevate Internal Audit Scholarship Program.
The Elevate program was launched by the audit body and the cloud-based risk-management platform in 2020 to provide scholarships to internal auditors who have been negatively impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Now, with the commencement of economic recovery, the Elevate program is set to expand its support by providing merit-based scholarships to cover the costs for all three parts of the CIA exam.
Scott Arnold, president and CEO at AuditBoard, said: “In today’s world of complex and rapidly-evolving risk, it’s more important than ever for internal auditors to gain the skills to protect and drive value for their organizations.
“We’re proud to support the internal audit community by partnering with The IIA to provide access to CIA training and exams for those seeking to lead the industry through this historic inflection point.”
Since its inception, the joint scheme has extended aid for continuing education to more than 200 internal auditors.
Anthony Pugliese, president and CEO at the IIA, said: “To keep pace in this ever-evolving world, internal auditors must constantly acquire new knowledge and skills.
“The Elevate scholarship is intended to help those impacted by the pandemic increase their competencies and career options through IIA training programs and certifications, particularly the CIA, that will position them as vital to organizational success.”
