FASB adds two new EITF members

Jack Ciesielski, founder of RG Associates, and Brandon Coleman, partner at Deloitte will both join the emerging issues task force

The Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) has announced the appointment of two new members to its emerging issues task force (EITF).

Jack Ciesielski, founder of RG Associates, and Brandon Coleman, partner of national office accounting and reporting services at Deloitte, have been named to join the task force by Richard Jones, chair of the FASB.

The task force is responsible for improving financial reporting via the identification, discussion, and resolution of financial accounting issues in collaboration with the FASB.

Both Ciesielski and Coleman were chosen from a range of stakeholders in the organization, including users of financial statements, public accounting firms, and financial statement preparers.

Hillary Salo, chair of the EITF and technical director at the FASB, said: “I am pleased to welcome Jack Ciesielski and Brandon Coleman as members of the EITF.

“They both bring to the EITF strong financial reporting backgrounds and diverse professional expertise, which will further enhance our discussions on important financial reporting matters.”

Having previously served on the EITF from 2003 to 2008, Ciesielski takes up a new seat on the task force, while Coleman fills the seat vacated by fellow Deloitte partner Jeff Nickell.

Salo added that Nickell’s “exceptional service” has helped the body “improve financial reporting for those applying accounting standards”.
