Ryan, the global tax services and software provider, has announced the appointment of Kyle Thompson as a principal in the firm’s transaction tax practice.
Based in Dallas, Thompson joins the group from a role as indirect tax senior manager in the sales and use tax department at EY.
Thompson provides the position with 18 years of sales and use tax services experience in the oil and gas industry, including a previous stint as a senior consultant at Ryan.
Damon Chronis, president of US operations at Ryan, said: “We are very pleased to formally welcome Kyle to our growing Ryan team.
“His vast experience in sales and use tax in the oil and gas industry has further strengthened our service offering in this key industry.”
He added that Thompson’s “leadership” is set to play a “pivotal role” in the growth of the group’s sales and use tax practice.
During his time at EY, Thompson served as the primary liaison with the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts, Oklahoma Tax Commission, Louisiana Department of Revenue, and Ohio Department of Taxation.
