Wipfli LLP, a top 20 national accounting firm, has announced the appointment of Brad Werner as its industry leader for the firm’s construction and real estate practice.
Werner joined the firm in 2012, and brings 15 years of finance and operations experience to the practice.
He has served as the Chicago market construction and real estate leader since 2018, responsible for client engagement, practice growth and talent development.
In his new role, he will oversee Wipfli’s construction and real estate practice, and will lead a team serving thousands of clients, nationally and internationally, in the construction, real estate and hospitality sectors.
According to the firm, he will be responsible for leading the “greater” vision, strategy, operations and resources of the practice.
Werner is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Illinois CPA Society (ICPAS), the ICPAS Governmental Report Review Committee, NAIOP Chicago, and The Chicago Building Congress. He also holds an MBA from Olivet Nazarene University.
He will succeed John Schwab in the role, who is transitioning out of a dual role to focus exclusively on national industry leadership.
Schwab, Wipfli’s outgoing construction and real estate leader and national industry lead, said: “Brad thrives on deep, strategic work. He is an incredibly strong, people-centered advisor who has been highly successful in developing teams, collaborating with stakeholders and managing complex projects.
“His experience in the construction and real estate sector, coupled with his ingrained commitment to connection and mentorship, make him a strong addition to our bench of national leaders.”
