Wipfli has announced the appointment of Suresh Geer to the position of industry leader for the firm’s national tribal consulting practice.
Overseeing Wipfli’s tribal consulting practice, Geer will lead a nationwide team serving tribal clients in the areas of finance, technology and organizational strategy. He will be responsible for leading the overall vision, strategy, operations and resources of the practice.
He will succeed Joseph Eve as he transitions into retirement in 2022.
Geer brings 21 years of tribal finance and governance experience, having previously served in financial leadership roles with the Seminole Tribe of Florida, including the past eight years as executive director of finance/CFO. He joined Wipfli as a director in the tribal consulting practice earlier this year.
Geer said: “I was part of some trailblazing achievements for the Seminole Tribe, and now I’m in a position to help other tribes reach their own milestone goals.
“Wipfli built a legacy in serving Indian Country, and I’m motivated by the opportunity to further that work.”
Joseph Eve, current tribal consulting practice leader, said: “He is the right leader for us at this inflection point, ensuring Wipfli remains the consultant of choice for tribal governments, with visionary enterprise and strategic goals.”
