Cherry Bekaert names Daniel Mennel as tax partner

Mennel will join the firm’s strategic tax advisory services where he will help lead the credits and accounting methods practice

Cherry Bekaert has announced the appointment of Daniel Mennel as a tax partner with the firm’s strategic tax advisory services, where he will help lead the credits and accounting methods practice.

Mennel will be responsible for research & development (R&D) tax credit services in the firm’s West Coast region, as well as expanding Cherry Bekaert’s credits and accounting methods technology solutions. 

He will also assist clients with the employee retention credit under the CARES Act.

Prior to joining Cherry Bekaert, Mennel was a tax partner with Grant Thornton, and previously spent 10 years building the West Coast R&D practice for KPMG.

Martin Karamon, principal in Cherry Bekaert’s strategic tax advisory services group and a leader of the credits and accounting methods practice, said: “We are thrilled to have Dan join our Credits and Accounting Methods team.
