CPA firm The Bonadio Group has announced the appointment of Matthew Babcock as a principal at the group’s compliance solutions team.
Specializing in healthcare, Babock will operate from the company’s Albany office, where he will be responsible for assisting the assessment of client’s compliance programs.
In the role, Babcock will be tasked with testing whether federal and state Medicare and Medicaid requirements are being met.
Paul Mayer, executive VP of compliance solutions at Bonadio, said: “As regulations and requirements for compliance programs become continuously more complex, Matt’s depth of expertise and experience in this space will help our clients stay on top of their compliance requirements.
“Matt’s background complements our compliance division’s healthcare practice and expands the specialized services we offer to our clients.”
Previously, Babcock served as the assistant Medicaid inspector general at the New York State Office of the Medicaid Inspector General (OMIG).
While most recently acting as deputy director at the Bureau of Program Counsel at the New York State Department of Health, Babcock has also held management and legal positions across the hospital, health insurance, and managed care industries.
